Either side of the nose
Behind the driver
On the roof
Also on the roof despite appearances
Indoors in a box. No, it’s not an onboard freezer.
On a retractable pylon
In the tail
At the tips of the rotor blades (if you count a stream of compressed air to which burning fuel was added as an engine)
At the other end of a long cable

Top picture. You could not pay me to get in one of those cri cri weedwhacker-powered lawn darts.

Another good example of your #1 would be the Dornier Skyservant family.

Does “at both ends” count?

I want a CRI CRI so badly. Wheeee

How about a radial engine inside your front wheel? As the engine block rotates and the crank is stationary, it would be a rotary engine in the aircraft terminology.

Does in the middle count as a weird place?

That is awesome.

Dang. I need to watch Porco again.

Indeed. A very interesting idea, but probably very bad, as one rarely had to apply brakes to a
Gnome/LeRhone...

You could make a similar argument for the A-10.

Not only that, but it was direct drive, no clutch.
Want to stop? Kill the engine. Want to start the engine back up? IIRC, release compression, and push start it, and jump on once it’s rolling. So, ideally, just don’t stop - circle waiting for the intersection to clear instead.

How about right-front-mid-engine RWD, under your leg?

I see your right front mid engine rwd and raise you a right rear/mid engine rwd.

Although, I’d argue that that’s not really the same - I mean, every transverse engine is offset some, but the whole engine bay isn’t offset on that. (And, besides, the motor that drives the wheels is on the left side of that engine bay.)
